TRENDS
- Cherry Red and matching seperates
Clueless-esque matching separates are definitely already a huge trend across the globe, although I find them quite a bit more chic than when Cher first wore them in the 90s. Alice and Olivia is filled with boxy crop tops paired with box pleated skirts, and I think it is adorable. When their is only a bit of your upper midriff or none at all paired with a blazer and a matching pencil skirt, it can easily transform into office wear. Ariana Grande's style (many cute vintage pieces from Kenley Collins ) is the perfect example of this.
2.Fruit and Flower prints
I'm sure you're thinking "Fruit? Flowers? What?" but hear me out. Pineapple print has been popping up through many different stores. For example, Aerie, Target, forever 21, and even J.Crew all have jumped on the pineapple print train, from swmsuits to preppy button down tops. When crop tops of this print are paired with high waisted shorts, it makes for a cute outfit. When you wear a pineapple button down tucked into a flowy tulle skirt, i love it. And when you wear a pineapple printed dress (preferably with wedge sandals and a vintage headband) don't even get me started. Adorable. Another fruit related print that I'll wish to see more of is strawberries. Strawberry print is very vintage looking and is of course very summery, because of strawberry picking traditions. Button down tops with strawberry print is one item I'm hoping to see on the shelves very soon.
Now onto flower prints. Daisy print is one awesome print for spring that I've already worn. Daisies are adorable when they are paired with light pastels, without being too easter-egg ey. Sunflowers are also a flower that has been "sprouting" up across social media. Made famous by American Apparel Shorts, later created by Pacsun, many starlets have been seen wearing them, and they are definetly a flower that belongs in summer.
